Brewery & Online Notes: $6 HH 16 oz draft pour, 3.6% ABV.

This low ABV farmhouse ale has a noticeable texture, almost fluffy, backed with a dry effervescence. Although the beer is rather pale, most of the color comes from the malted triticale, as well as lending a soft flavor that resembles wheat bread. The hops, in conjunction with the fermentation, present a combination of fruitiness and rusticity. Hay and fruit dominate the aroma as you go in for a sip; a fruity brightness swiftly transitions to the bready flavor, and ends dry with a slight bitterness that lingers softly. Its punchy aromatics, fluffy texture, low ABV, and dry finish lend this beer to pair well with many foods, or simply serve as a refreshing crusher of a beer as we await for Spring showers and bask amongst May flowers.

Appearance: 16 oz draft pour into a nonic glass. Light blonde straw clear pour, off white head with soapy lacing, medium to heavy carbonation. 3.75

Aroma: Light wheat, lemongrass, funk emerges as this sits a bit. 3.5

Taste: Much bolder and stronger than the aroma, Funky lemon, citrus fruit leads, lightly tart. Nice. 3.75

Mouthfeel: Very dry, light and easy. Thin body, medium carbonation sustained throughout. Medium funk, lightly tart, easy drinking, dryness lingers. 4.0

Overall: This is a good grisette, light and easy drinking, drier than expected, digging this. 3.75

Was my go to beer until they made it virtually impossible to find around here let alone find it fresh. I have no idea what's going on with them - it used to be readily available but not any more - even Total Wine doesn't have it. Pisses me off actually because I really like that beer. I have some but it's already past the best by date and lacks the lovely floral hoppiness that makes it so good.

 

Central Waters Brewing Twenty Three. On June 23rd, in 2023. This bottle was meant for me to experience right now, to celebrate @Blogjackets and my birthday. I am in Annandale, MN, having survived Taylor Swift Twin Cities traffic. Taylor Swift is performing tonight and tomorrow night a few miles from where I was born 46 years ago. Tomorrow I celebrate my grandmother's 100th birthday, then gather with a group of BAs to celebrate @Victory_Sabre1973's 50th birthday. I have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful to all my BA family. You are an extension of the family I am gathering with this weekend. My family will celebrate my grandmother giving life to four generations of a large family, and get this...zero people after her generation have died in my family. I have been to zero funerals on my father's side, and I am on the young side of the family. We are blessed. We have much to celebrate. Please join me in the celebration. Especially @JamFuel. He and I will need some rest after this weekend.

 

That's really strange - I never had a single issue with beer spraying after pulling them from one of those six pack holders.
