When it comes to Stella, I'd rather go straight from the bottle than give it the red solo cup treatment.

I'm getting a bit of a late start today -- almost 9PM here! Thanks @MadMadMike for getting the ball rolling!

Today's first beer of the evening is Beantown Tea Party, an Earl Grey stout made by Horizont Brewery here in Budapest. I was not sure how I would feel about it, but it turns out it's darn tasty!

My son is a music teacher in Toulouse. He loves the area and told us to sell everything and move in, adapt, find a place for ourselves.
    Here we go!
I’m so excited, I’m so scared.,.

Next up is another Brew Your Mind beer. So far, I've only had their IPAs and pale ales and been super impressed. The other day I picked up a can of their helles lager at the brewery, and I am happy to say, it is damn fine indeed!

Something I mentioned the other day was how popular non-alcoholic radlers are here in Hungary. I snapped a pic at the store near my apartment to give you an idea of the breadth of variety. For context, this is relatively small neighborhood grocery store.

Fantastic! You'll love it - Toulouse is a great city, small enough to get to know (well), big enough to lose yourself and to have all sorts of great options for food, entertainment, the arts... I bet there's even a lively new beer scene there, too, given the big college population in that town.
I spent a year of my childhood there in Toulouse, when I was all of... 4? 5? LOL - wish I remembered it better from then but I've been back a few times since...

Good luck with everything - we expect photos once you're settled in! Cheers!

Grand Teton Brewing Co. -- 5 O-Clock Shadow
    Dark lager
    ABV: 4.7%; pouring temperature: 47 °F; canning info: n/a
Source: local purchase (Coaltrain Fine Wine, Craft Beer & Spirits)

    4.25/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Clear, dark brown pour that looks black and opaque in the glass; huge khaki head, dense, sudsy, semi-creamy on top and long-lasting; fat fingers and partial rings of foam inside the glass. Rich aroma of dark grain char and sweet cocoa; charred bread crust. Milk chocolate taste with a nice dose of earthy bitterness; vanilla. Medium body; smooth and silky.

This gorgeous beer delivers the goods. Taste, appearance, aroma, and feel are superior to most dark lagers. Just a wonderful drinking experience.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

...11 to 12 years ago (or more), Grand Teton had another dark lager also named '5 O'Clock Shadow'. They called that beer a schwarzbier and jacked the ABV up to 7.6%. They also considered that one a Spring time beer while this version a Summer release. Regardless, I rated the older beer the same as this one, whether one wants to call it a dark lager, schwarzbier or, perhaps, a Baltic porter...

Do you like Bourbon County Brand Stout? There's a place over the river from where you're at, that has it on tap. It's called Tap 22 in Silvis, Illinois. Today is $2 Tuesday, you can get a pint for $2. I asked the bartender, she said every tap is $2. They also have $8 tenderloin and fries. Get over there. Also have Psuedo Sue and Three Floyds Gumballhead.

    G'day all!
Well, it has warmed up quite a bit. Yesterday was the first day that it reached the 90° F mark.

This Coffee Porter could use a bit more oomph but it is easy drinking.

    Prost!

A bit disappointed with this, such nice flavor with a touch of heat from the pepper. My undated can lacked any carbonation. I picked up this in the single section, would like to give it another chance if I thought the lack of carbonation was just this can.
