I went to my favorite neighborhood lunch spot today. I had a chicken souvlaki wrap with pasta salad, and a side of Bible.
So I ignored that and had a Bearded Iris Homestyle
    [IMG]

Always alert for the rare drop of fresh Bearded Iris.

This is the Meggy Ale from Frootie, a new brand I didn't recognize from my last trip here. I think it's owned by a company that markets several brands of beer, but doesn't have a "brewery identity" of its own. This one is not too bad! It's back-sweetened, as many of these fruit beers are, but it's working for me.

    Egészségedre!

Also ... @LesDewitt4beer -- keep that Hamm's content flowin'!

Enjoying an IPA and getting a few chores done. Grandson is completing his Hunter Safety Course, so now he wants to shoot some firearms. We're heading to the gun range later with an assortment to practice with.

    1) Paulaner Muncher Hell (4.8% canned 8/2022):
An original German Helles with flavors of earthy honey and German bread. A smooth finish.
    versus
    2) Klosterbrauerei Andechs Vollbier Hell (4.8% bottled 10/2022): A German Helles with flavors of pale malts, earthy, grassy hops and German yeast. Buttery.
    versus
    3) Tucher Brau Helles (5.2% L223809): A German Helles with flavors of earthy, pale Munich malts. Smooth honeyflower. (Mismatched #2 and #3, correctly matched #1)

    Winner:
    3) Tucher Brau Helles:
German Helles Battle. Nothing better than an authentic German Helles battle on this rainy day. I've probably had Paulaner the most. It's pretty much the standard German Helles for me. I always get a bit of rustic notes from Paulaner beers which gave it away. Andechs is my all-time favorite German Helles. Complexy, yeasty, earthy, but maybe storage was an issue. Seems to have a bit of diacetyl flavor. Only tried Tucher Brau a couple of times, but was recommended I revisit it, as it's a favorite for many people. Sure enough, it was the best of the three. Earthy, floral, light honey, and drinkable. Excellent German Helles and I'll drink all three on this drizzly day.

Splitting a bottle I brought back from Denver with co-owner Tegan - TRVE’s “Red Chaos” a sour ale aged on tart Wisconsin cherries:

    Mild tartness/mild cherry flavor. Outstanding!
A great light (5.8%) fruited sour on a hot Florida afternoon. Cheers gang!

If I didn’t need a car I probably would not own one. My 2009 CRV has some kind of problem with the gas gauge. It reads full no matter how much I have driven it since my last refill. I would not care so much but I cannot pump any gas in! It clicks off in a second like when you try to top off the tank. So I could have just one gallon left.

Rear tire low inflation indicator comes on about once a month. I fill it but it seems to lose pressures. Mechanic took off the wheel and could not find a leak. Wonderful.

There are a number of other mechanical issues plaguing the car. Anyway, just wanted to let you know you keep good company. Maybe it is time for me to buy a new car.

I may go to The Answer Brewpub tomorrow instead of going to Veil. Not sure how long it has been going on but they sell a lot of four and six packs of their stuff.
