The rain is ending, but 40° and wind makes for a chilly day.

Morning chores done, who knows what this afternoon will bring. But for now, drinking local. Midwest Ale Works Da Rougarou Red Ale, on the deck, overlooking my flooded backyard. 5.8% abv featuring Barbe Rouge hops. Cheers!

A tasty cream ale from a local brewery.

This was a nice beer I enjoyed yesterday, didn't really look at the Best Before Date until later. Does anyone know how to interpret this?

Here's a beer you BA guys would enjoy. Is a straight brandy bomb. At craft beer cellar stocking up on some brews about to hit the way home. Having 512 Pils next to it for hydration purposes.

    Cheers y'all!

    Furst Wallerstein Doppelbock.

I'd never heard of this brewery, but apparently it's been around since 1598!

Solid doppelbock vibes here, but I prefer Salvator and Celebrator (at least at first blush).

I did! It was also tasty lots of sweet toffee. I was nicely offered a few samples of both at first I'm like of course twist my arm. But that barrel age on the stout was calling me. It's a shame it wasnt canned/bottled.

I did score a pack of Hubris BA barley/corn wine I posted a few days ago by Vector. Was itching for a pack of it.

    1) Millstream Oktoberfest (6.2%): A Märzen from Iowa with flavors of sweet bready, toasted bread, floral hops, and mildly sweet
    versus
    2) 3 Sheeps Oktoberfest (5.5%): A Märzen from Wisconsin with flavors of rich bread, glazed caramel, toasty with some amber notes. Leans sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Millstream Oktoberfest
: Oktoberfest Märzen battle on this rainy Thursday, and two of the best. 3 Sheeps has been an all-time favorite of mine. Rated well on BeerAdvocate and the #56 ranked Märzen. Goes up against Millstream which impressed me last year, and rated very well. The #22 ranked Märzen on BeerAdvocate. Sure enough, both are fantastically similar. Probably comes down to preference and the winner could go either way. 3 Sheeps has slightly more amber and caramel notes while Millstream is more bready. Haven't had much else from Millstream but this is excellent. Two of the best Oktoberfest Märzens I'd say.
