    ...we have a great neighborhood...lots of diversity yet nothing overly nosey...in fact, I was touched yesterday -- the young kids next door had a small ball and a rubber dart-thing in our yard...I yelled 'heads up' and tossed them back over the privacy fence and went to tarp some of my tomatoes...I turned around and one kid was pushing a white piece of paper through the fence with a blue heart drawn on it...even an old curmudgeon like me can't help but be touched by that...

    ...anyway, we've been hosting the chili cook-off for about 12-15 years (mostly)...sometimes I get gifted with beer and bottles of booze which kind of blows me away...
