    Checking out this Rye Rauch Lager (6,8%) from Kimito Brewing in Finland while wrapping up some work. I want more carbonation and smoke, less doughiness, and more of a layered malty backbone.

    Man, I am jealous of all the great looking NA beers you have available over there....the European ones I can get here are all pretty delicious (Bitburger, Clausthaler, Guinness, Einbecher etc etc)....cheers!

    Gorgeously clear copper hued body; dense, lively carbonation; thick, frothy, long-lasting head. Bright caramel sweetness enhanced with spicy notes of coriander and mint. Nicely balanced medium-malt flavor, lightly toasty with a subtle bitter and herbaceous undercurrent; light caramel notes. Medium-light body; light tickle and stickiness on the palate; a hint of dryness near the finish.

    A very nice ESB type of beer; subdued ABV presence, malty, and very quaffable.

    Most are in the supermarkets here. Germany and Belgium are never far away from anywhere in the Netherlands.
    Bitburger is one of my favorites too. But just this one is hard to find here. That Claustaler IPA looks interesting too. Never seen it here or in Germany so far.

    CCB Jai Alai. Took the family to Fort Lauderdale for the rest of the week. I gotta go on a Total Wine rant. I walk into this store and it was an IPA graveyard. Most 8-10 months old. I’m not breaking any ground by complaining about big chain liquor stores having old IPA’s, but this was pretty embarrassing. They even had an end cap that said new beers, the end cap was all fall pumpkin beers. What a mess of a store. I’ll just stick with the classics. Three week old Jai Alai. Happy Wednesday BA!

    1) Luce Line Piedmont (5.1% canned 11/20/23): A Czech Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemon, pale malts, bread, yeast. Bitter.
    versus
    2) Fair State Pilsner (5.1% canned 11/30/23): A German Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass, yeast, and bitter, dry flower. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Fair State Pilsner:     Minneosta Pilsner Battle. Both are good, fresh, and bitter like I enjoy them. First is Luce Line Piedmont. It's a Czech Pils. Lemony, but bitter. Very nice.
    Next is Fair State Pils, a German Pilsner. This is excellent and one of the best pilsners when this fresh. Its strong, floral, and bitter. Too good of a pilsner and I'll enjoy this all year round.

    I can add to your TW "hard to believe" experience. A few days ago my lady splashed out and I picked up a little beer haul. We shop at TW and I think nothing of it...but this time was different. I found Wexford Ale 4ks manufacture date August 2022 and exp dated Sept 2023. They should sell motion sickness bags in that aisle.
