Good evening, all! Finally got around to frying up my chicken wings. Marinated overnight in a homemade rub, then breaded in a seasoned flour and cornstarch blend and fried in a mixture of canola oil and bacon fat. Paired with Les Grisettes. I recently discovered this stuff called BaconUp, a shelf-stable filtered bacon fat. It's the real deal. Cheers!

 

Roomate wanted a sip before I could even get a pic. Trying some local stuff.
Gose's might now be in my personal favorite styles list.

Brux, a wild ale collab between Sierra Nevada and Russian River. Brewed in 2012 and re-bottled in 2022. This is the latter.

Apricot, peach, cherry aroma. Taste has some tart, but mild. Smooth, clean finish.

 

A gift from last summer.

Very dark cherry upfront. Oaky cherry smell with a mild sweet finish. A very still beer, I like it.

Edit….as I move into the light I see a few bubbles rising up, very few but they are there.

A great band, go see them live!

I’m Jello. I had an original bottle of this beer I hunted down, paid around $18 and took it on vacation. I talked it up and opened it around the fire. Worst beer ever. Flat, horrible tasting green apples and body like water. Your pour looks great and bet it’s tasting great too.
