I took advantage of the 50+ temps in these parts today to do some serious shucking outdoors. No stink eye today for smelling up the kitchen.

 

I've been craving a red beer since someone posted about it recently.

 

Nothing to eat for me. Prepping a fish fry mix for a friend. Cheers.

Beautiful day here. Outside temp has dropped to 69° as more gusty winds roll in this afternoon. Enjoy the day BAs!

Been waiting to catch a fresh pack of that. Lakewood just released a similar 1 called Stubs Texas pils.

 

1) Jester King Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pilsner from Austin with flavors of pale malts, lemon citrus, bright floral notes. Moderately bitter.
versus
2) Fair State Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass, yeast, and dry flower. Bitter. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Fair State Pilsner: German Pils Battle. First is Jester King out of Austin. Very nice German Pilsner. Everything about it is spot on. Close, but not quite as bitter as Fair State.
Next is Fair State. My GOAT of German Pilsners from The States. Extremely balanced with a floral, bitter finish. I heard that Fair State is having financial problems so I went out of my way to buy a bunch of these to support them. If you see this Pilsner at the store, pick up a four-pack.

 

Found this one yesterday canned 2-21-24.

 

I went to Total for the first time in a while recently and they were already a few months in. I want fresher. Being picky. Im sure I'll see fresh cans or tap soon.
