What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4160

Schells Bock (6.1%): A Bock from Minnesota with flavors of caramel, rye, brown bread, nuts, and hints of cocoa and molasses. Smooth, earthy, and sweet.

As the weather warms going through some of my darker and winter beers. This is one of my favorite Bocks. Caramel, bready, and nutty. They have improved the can art and this is a beer I'm probably going to come back to year after year.

 

What is the picture in the background,best guess I got is cloves of garlic??

Finished my federal and state taxes last night. Always a lot of fun.

 

Not liking the cinnamon aspect to this beer.. also tastes alot like if they just put some cocoa powder in it. Not feeling this one. So many non-adjunct stouts with a more natural chocolate flavor/feel. Cheers!!

3 Floyds Turbo Reaper IPA. This is their new year-round offering. They call it a west coast IPA and it definitely falls in line with that, albeit a new school version with a lighter malt and more approachable bitterness. Getting purple and white grape, ruby red grapefruit, navel orange flesh and peel, passionfruit, herbaceous dankness, earthy pine resin. Significant "juicy" character. It's not what I expected, but I still enjoy this quite a bit.

 

Enjoying a Czechvar , as it disappearing as i type. Love this lager . Time to go grab another,

Lite. Oooo. It makes me wonder. I really don't know...

 

Kros Strain Koala Tears Project (Strawberry Cheesecake) Fruited Sour, 6% ABV. Pours opaque orange with a three-finger off-white head that left puree residue. Aroma is strawberry cheesecake. Taste follows, equally tart and sweet. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

I make it a point to try every cheesecake beer I find. Usually they smell or taste great, sometimes neither, and rarely both. This is one of the better ones I've had. I have better luck finding good cheesecake beers than than I do finding drinkable pumpkin beers.

Decided to open a Urquell next. Czechvar or Urquell you win either way . Urquell to me has more crisp hops while Czechvar is more floral.
