In my last two visits to Austin, that beer right there has been the most consistent bet, bar none. Well, ok, that and of course Jester King's Le Petit Prince!

We've had bright, clear, warm weather here in Portland for the past couple days. After 5 months of cold, gray winter, these first sunny days are just magical.

I got out and put some miles on the bike this afternoon. And since my bike seems to know when I'm ready for a beer, I bipped in to Chuckanut Brewing beer hall for some nice fresh Rye Lager and then a small pour of their majestic Helles.



Then I meandered a couple blocks away to The Beermongers for a pint of DDH Cousin Shannon IPA from Living Häus. "Shannon" is Irish, right?

I've been thinking about the discussion of 500+ reply WBAYDN threads. My six plus beer days are few and far between anymore. I used to really help push the numbers 5-7 years ago. Figured out I don't sleep well when I do that...
