What beer are you drinking now? #4174

Ha Haaaa! An extra 1/2 oz of sauce. Good job on picking up that one! This has me recalling a trip to one of my small local beer outlets a few years ago now. I saw an open 6 pack of Heineken and one of the bottles was severely deformed. I wish I would have bought it. Don't know how it made it through all of the production lines, but it did!

 

A rainy, gloomy day around here. But this excellent brew from Weihenstephaner, Hefeweissbier Dunkel, is brightening things up. First time with this beer, but I believe it is now my favorite of the Weihenstephaner beers I've had. Cheers!

Uncontrollable Urge (Urgh! A Music War) ~ DEVO

 

1) Modist Queen Of The Rodeo (6.0%): An oak-aged Rye Beer from Minnesota with flavors of brown bread, rye spice, toast. Earthy and dry.
versus
2) Schells Snowstorm 2023 (6.4%): A Rye Beer from Minnesota with flavors of rich bread, caramel, syrup and rye. Sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Modist Queen Of The Rodeo: Rye Beer Battle. First is from Modist. They do some cool oak-aged lagers. This one has promise. Pours beautifully. Great aromas and flavors. Authentic rye spice with a bit of earthniess. Not too sweet. A great beer.
Next is Schells Snowstorm 2023. Fitting for another snowday in the end of March. This one is similar. Slightly heavier and sweeter.
Both are top notch rye beers. Great flavors, but I'm going with Modist with this impressive oak-aging and complex, dry flavors.

Opted to stay in the Anzures area but Coyoacan definitely has a ton of entertainment options. It does get crowded on weekends though. It was crazy last night.

 

Happy Monday ba. Not sure why the hell I grabbed this but I did. Summer ale, sunny pale ale, Brooklyn. Bb 12/31/23, but it’s drinking just fine. Light, slightly floral with notes of lemon and straw grains.
