Tom, I remember the days when the Braves were in the NL West (MLB used to be geographically challenged). I hated staying up for those West Coast games that started at 10:35PM EST. And that was back when they weren't much worth staying up that late for! Love the classic Brubeck!

La Roma - Este Oeste IPA


This place is crazy. They sell Tree House, Trillium, Fidens, North Park, and a bunch of other whales. Insane.

 

From Tree House. This is very good. Sometimes i’m not the biggest fan of the new zealand hops, but they nailed this

 

Doing a little bowling with my bro and the kids. Jeremiah Johnson's Mountain Man in my glass and Neptune's Knotty Lotty in his. Definitely beats being at work!

1) Giesenbrau Bohemian Necromancer (4.9%): A Czech Dark Lager from Minnesota with flavors of dark cocoa, black malt, bread. Earthy and lightly floral. Smooth.
versus
2) Phase Three P3 Czech Dark (5.3%): A Czech Dark Lager from Chicago with flavors of coca, dark grains, roast, and earth. Clean. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner:
Phase Three Czech Dark.
Czech Dark Lager Battle. First is Giesenbrau Bohemian Necromancer from Minneosta. A nice Czech Dark here. It has dark grains, smooth chocolate notes with a mild roast. Authentic to style. Up against Phase Three's Czech Dark. Very similar flavors overall and nearly identical. Phase Three might have slightly more dark bready flavors rather than chocolate. Both are fantastic. This is probably my favorite lager style during the colder winter months. Finishing these dark ones out for some spring cleaning.

Didn't have a baseball-themed beer, so this'll have to do. Count me among the BA fans of the National Pastime. Currently have 3 games on and rooting for the Pirates, Orioles, and Reds.
