A new beer to me. Clavis 12° Czech Amber Lager from Dutchless Ales confusingly brewed by Urban Chestnut. It's a strange cross between Amber and Dark Czech Lager. I've had some Czech Amber Lagers I've really liked. This was a decent beer but disappointed me a bit because I was expecting an pure amber. Worth checking out though.

It’s still technically morning here, but only just. The sun is magnificent, and it’s about time for a nice amber lager — Fonta Flora Specks of Sand, an amber lager - Roggenbier - stein beer. It’s good!

This beer was review #4,996 here on BA. Will I make it to the big one today?!?!

The warm weather some of you are posting was a good reminder that it's time to clear out winter beer. It's still cold here as I refuse to turn on the heat when it will be mid-60s and sunny the next three days. This BA Framinghammer should warm me up a bit.

It's in that sweet spot 5 months after canning where the alcohol burn has lessened just a bit but the bourbon is still prominent. Also has some licorice going on that I don't recall from the fresh cans that is quite nice.

    1) Hop Butcher Presto Change-O (7.5% canned 2/7/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic and Simcoe for flavors of mixed berries, juicy pineapple, and sweet pine.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Broccoli Special Reserve (8.3% canned 1/23/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Blanc for flavors of mango, sweet orange, pineapple, and lychee. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Hop Butcher Presto Change-O:
Happy Sunday BeerAdvocates. Hop Butcher vs. Toppling Goliath IPA Battle. First is Preso Change-O. Mosaic and Simcoe. Dynamic and smooth tropical flavors. Balanced and complex. Holding up well with age as Hop Butcher tends to do well.
Next is Toppling Goliath Broccoli Special Reserve. Simliar but with Blanc hops. Juicy, zesty, but starting to lose some of that DDH goodness at 3 months. It was really fantastic when fresh though.
I was pleasantly surprised by this Hop Butcher IPA and still holding up very well.

Pilsner Urquell (4.4%): The original Czech Pils that has buttery and salty flavors of diacetyl atop the smooth bread malt.

Sometimes nothing drinks better than the OG Czech Pils. Buttery, salty, and the flavors and drinkability are superb. Balanced and drinks unlike any other beer. Hard to find a better pilsner as well-distributed for the price. A great lager to enjoy the final round of The Masters.

Beer 3 is not the same, and I should probably have gotten a different glass but with all the things that Mrs. Ozone has on my to do list, I don't need to add washing glasses to the list.

I don't get much barrel aging flavor in the beer other than the oak presence. Otherwise, this is a decent enough saison, offering elements of the style and delivering respectable complexity.
