If they're not selling through it fast enough, shame they don't sell 2pp to LC members sans a package. I would've gladly picked up two bottles, especially since it wasn't $70+ for a single bottle.

Or perhaps they're afraid they won't sell through their stock of sours without packages.

Really wonder why they still make so many sours when the only way they can effectively move them is by packaging with stouts. Maybe I’m overstating some there, but if they were moving well enough on their own, they wouldn’t need to package em.

 

Oh, there's absolutely no way. Not for 3 years now. And not going forward. Not possible.

 

Perhaps part of that has to do with the timelines in terms of initially brewing to release of an aged product. How long do SP sours sit in barrels? Are today's sour releases produced when SP was selling out of packages instantly?

But otherwise, I've had the same thought.

You would've thought it would happen at some point, but the fact they expanded LC so widely and releases are still sitting means some other things may still need to change. Then again, perhaps the margins are set in a way that they can let D18 packages sit for a month or more, knowing they'll eventually sell....

I can't help but think we're in a new era of beer in general. Kegs that would've lasted less than an hour at any local beer event are sitting for days to weeks now. Limited anniversary beers that were instant sell outs are still available a week (or more) later. Let's not forget that BBT and Rye BBT both sat for awhile after release too.

 

Except for Oude Grand Cru I think all of the recent sours were brewed well after packages became a thing. Even the oldest threads.

 

Packs marked as sold out, but as slow as they were moving im wondering if they pulled them. Anyway im happy everyone is getting a chance to try their beers atleast.

Apparently having two garage releases this weekend wasn't enough, as there will also be one on Saturday for the Zwanze attendees.

Apparently a release for zwanze day attendees and my guess is that is also the Sunday release. Just giving them first crack.
