• @Prager62 I also love all the Chicago shots for my original Chicago movie and only "R" rated movie I ever got permission to see (basically saw what I wanted as a teen without "permission"). The movie still holds up well, love all the musicians. Miss Maxwell Street to this day.
• I never made it to the Checkerboard Lounge @TCgenny , but would have loved to take in a few shows there.

Bottle Logic Fundamental Observation (2018)



Full cellar review link. Bottom line, I did buy these types of beers during an exploratory phase, and perhaps my palate has shifted over time, but this tastes like drinking a liquid vanilla jelly bean after 5 1/2 years in the bottle. Some may love this verdict, for me, I may split this over two days to avoid the diabetes. Word to your Mother.

From a 16oz can dated 03/05/24

Murky, hazy, and dank looking golden pouring beer. A frothy and fluffy 2 finger white head that has great retention, and some good lacing on the glass.
The nose starts hitting as I poured the beer with a melon aroma. Lots of cantaloupe in the nose, with other tropical notes. I also get a hint of a grassy aroma.
Taste - Full on cantaloupe flavor in this beer. This flavor hits right away and lingers. I also get an earthy, and grassy flavor up front that mellows out as it goes on.
The body is off the chart smooth, full, creamy, and soft.
Damn amazing beer overall, and a pleasure to try.

 

Waiting for the lobster roll truck to set up with the wife, a Son and the dog at Myrcene Ale. Drinking lighthouse Haze good drinking NEIPA.

High Cotton Brewing Scottish Ale



Deep cola color with orange/Red tinges around the edges. Small tannish cap with little lacing.

Aroma of bready malt with touches of caramel and light peat.

Simple flavors of lightly roasted caramel malt, richer than average dark malt and a hint of smoke in the background. Hops are there as a balance and do that job well. Flavors work well together and produce an above average beer.

Medium texture with enough carbonation to pop.

This comes across as a less intense version of the Scottish Ale stye.

 

I do not know what is better, the beer or the song,
Here a simple version. tTe full orchestrated version flabbergasting. But what a song and what a voice.

New beer! Good Word Brewing collab with Perennial Artis Ales. Old Gold American Lager 4.5%. Yep, made with corn. This is how American lagers should be made. Amazingly dry. Snappy fresh. Floral aroma and spicy hops flavor with a hint of malt grains on the back end. Just enough bitterness for balance. Nice collab!
