Full morning of chores at the house. I serviced the A/C - changed the filter and shop vac’d the line; weeded and cleaned up the landscape in the front yard; put away tools and stuff in the garage…winding down with a Tropicalia:

There’s another bunch on the opposite side. Too bad our Jamaican neighbor moved away. She would cut them up, skin on, and make an oxtail stew using the banana chunks as a potato substitute. Yummy!

After I finish up here, I’m heading to the pub for lunch and beers with Amanda. Cheers y’all!

Revolution Supermassive Cafe Deth (2021)



Cellar review here. Bottom line is this has some pepper notes at this stage, but everything else held on well and really enjoying. This is the last of my stash, held restraint with not picking up the recent release with close to ten cases left of various BA stouts in the cellar (bottles) and refrigerator (cans).

Clear light gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of rich malt and floral, spicy hops with a touch of earthiness.

Very good medium intensity Euro Style lager flavor with a firm hop bitterness in the finish. The malt carries through remaining rich yet dry and the hops burn up any sweetness resulting in a very dry flavor profile.

 

Hello BAs. Figured I'd join in with a beer on this spectacular Thursday/Friday. Summit Triumphant to celebrate my demolishing a big old crusty 5' x 36 x 24 cabinet w countertop. Cut down into manageable pieces and 1/3 of it I filtered into the garbage that got collected this morning. Upcycled one large piece as decking up in the garage rafters. Ready for a beer! and a bit of yard work. Cheers!

Arrived at the town of Nikkō earlier today. During check in I was given a glass of an unknown beer. Tastes like a lager with a wheat-y note but can't find someone to tell me what it is. Gonna keep asking.


Kankiko Meijyo - Nikkoji Pilsner

Another nice lager, which was perfect for sipping on the balcony. Apparently there are some cool microbrews to be found around here so I will keep my eyes open.

 

Drinking Frog Alley from Schenectady, NY 1903 Amber Lager, it’s quite good. I’ll have plan a trip to the Electric City to visit the brewery. Got a few miles in on the bike

 

That glass is cool on so many levels. Is it actually glass or is it just plastic?

 

Didn't expect to see a mention of Rotting Christ here for some reason. They are my "local" metal band and grew up listening to them. It's been a long time since I checked what new music they have come up with. I'm becoming less and less musical the older I get.
