I've never watched any of these people but was Rico not a native English speaker? Because the comments from that user do not read as coming from a native speaker, especially one that is a senior citizen

to see who Rico is you gotta watch the link that @Todd posted, which is in fact was a thread I had posted way back now. I would guess English is not his native language but not 100% sure.

same here...ive watched almost all of gregs videos for past 10 years and felt he shouldve done a follow-up video about Rico being alive since many people dont read thru the comments section. Plus i dont recall seeing any new beer mails from rico or hearing anything further about rico in any of Gregs future videos since then so i never gave it a second thought. You can imagine my shock and surprise when i found out recently that he had still been alive this whole time.

Yea I would only image that he was so pissed off and probably to a high degree embarrassed that he fell for such a joke in the first place. I mean he legit almost cried on air. So thats my only guess as to way he never did a follow up video. And who ever pranked him was fucked up. Thats really not something to joke around with it, the internet can be a cruel place.

Rico Did post comment with his regards and Greg's daughter updated us and replied with this comment:

"Hi Rico. I was hoping you would see this. I know you and my dad were close. Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a party for him in the hospital where the nurses rolled his whole bed outside and his motorcycle buddies rode up and he had 3 different beers from his fridge and smoked a joint before he went upstairs to palliative care. It was a beautiful thing to see. Even the nurses were crying. He has touched many people in his life. I am going to try to post a video to his account if I can get access. :beers: to you and thanks for being a friend to my dad."

I thought it might be worth re-sharing this video. It's an old video response from Stone Brewing's Greg Koch to Greg's Beer Reviews. For some reason this always stuck in my mind because of the "Greg to Greg" angle.

This one hits very close to home. We lived in the same town and prior to COVID ran into each other out on occasion.

Back in 2012ish I a actually dropped off a nice box of goodies from a VT / New England. He was so thankful. We chatted for a while, but I had to decline his offer to do a review with him. I wish I had taken him up on it looking back

    RIP Greg

Damn. Aging is such a bizarre thing because in many ways I feel like I just suddenly ended up here and I am looking around and everything is different, people are disappearing rapidly...growing older is not for the weak, that's for damn sure.

    RIP, Greg :beers:

Classic Greg! Something tells me that he and a few others on BA could have talked for hours about this subject

I never heard about him until Friday. I was watching a replay of the Stoned Crow Virtual Pub, and this was being discussed. I watched the Juice Force Review, and damn, I wish I would have known about him sooner. Falls suck big time. I watched my dad die from one back in 2017, and it was awful.

I used to love watching his reviews when he reviewed some of the legendary hazy Tree House beers and the like. Cheers Greg!
