Right along here ba. Money, ipa, barrier and the the new grocery store pull. This shit use to be sought after when it hit. Clearly, owned by something else,

Round Trip Helles at Proper Hop

 

I offered myself another Stone IPA.

1) Utepils Helles (5.1%): A German Helles Lager from Minnesota with flavors of smooth Munich bread malts and honeyflower,
versus
2) Tucher Brau Helles (5.2%): A German Helles with flavors of earthy, pale Munich malts, bread, yeast. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Tucher Brau Helles: German Helles Battle. First is Utepils. One of my favorite Helles lagers from the US. Smooth pale bread malts, with rich honeyflower flavors. Excellent German Helles.
Next is Tucher Brau. One of my favorites from Germany. Pours a bit darker, similar aromas and flavors overall. Slightly less sweet, but more earthy Munich malt flavors. Almost toasty like a festbier. These were very similar and I couldn't tell them apart blind. Initially I like the flavors from Utepils, but as the Tucher Brau warms a bit I think I prefer that one.
