Irish Red from Suwanee's Still Fire. I was considering tuning one of my guitars down to B later today. These guys ( Cerebral Rot) might even be tuned lower than that. I did a double take, thinking maybe I needed to play this on 45 rpm.

1) Barrel Theory Infinity Of Thoughts (8.0% canned 3/22/24): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra, Nectaron and Nelson for flavors of tropical orange, stonefruit, papaya, melon, and mango.
versus
2) Toppling Goliath Cosmic Archer (7.8% canned 3/20/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin & Citra for flavors of orange citrus and pineapple zest, white grape, berries, and lychee. Zesty and clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: 2) Toppling Goliath Cosmic Archer.
Happy Sunday BeerAdvocates and time for a Barrel Theory vs. Toppling Goliath IPA Battle. First is Barrel Theory out of the Twin Cities. Nice combo of Citra, Nectaron, and Nelson. This showcases the Nectaron well giving a tropical stonefruit and pineapple flavor.
Next is Toppling Goliath Cosmic Archer. One of my favorites from Toppling Goliath. Fantastic hop combo here. The flavors come together perfectly. Getting the win for sure.
I have to give credit to Barrel Theory for making an outstanding IPA here that uses Nectaron. I'm not usually a fan of Nectaron, but they make it nicely here. This brewery has been growing on me.

 

Boulevard Let's Keep It Platonic Imperial Pastry Stout, 14.2% ABV. I rated this 4.67 in 2021. Given some of the epic beers I've had since then, I may be inclined to reduce this somewhat.

Less than a week for heading out to Thailand, just hope my shoulder is healed up enough to do some SCUBA there...

 

Lunar Brewing Moondance, a classic Cascade and Columbus hopped IPA.

In ancient times, I bought a new large 45 format of Yngwie Malmstein’s I’m a Viking. I hear weird sounds from our basement and one of my roommates was really getting into the slow groove of the song. I went downstairs, picked up the needle, switched the speed from 33 to 45, laughed and dropped the needle
