What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4245

1) Drekker Underwater Ally (8.1% canned 5/6/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Mosaic, Citra, and Ella for flavors of orange, pineapple, papaya, and melon.
versus
2) Drekker Evil Natured Robots (8.0% canned 4/23/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota brewed with Mosaic & NZH-107 hops for flavors of orange citrus, green pineapple, guava, coconut, and lime. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Drekker IPA Battle BeerAdvocates. First is Underwater Ally. Citra, Mosaic plus some Ella which I'm not as familiar with. It drinks very juicy and tropical with some papaya and pineapple flavors. Very enjoyable.
Next is Evil Natured Robots. Mosaic plus that NZH-107. One of my favorite Drekker hop combos.
I thought Underwater Ally was far better than I expected and remembered. Definitely growing on me. But the winner here goes to Evil Natured Robots. I used to think all Drekker IPAs tasted the same, but I've found Drekker to have really dialed in their IPA game in the last couple of years.

She’s So Cold ~ The Rolling Stones

 

Ho-hum, a little more ginger would be nice.

 

Great thing about living in MN and having family visit from IL.... is easy access to New Glarus! Got most of the week off for my middle child's graduation, so these 24 beers ain't gonna last long between me and the old man.

 

Rothaus Tannenzapfle (5.1%): An authentic German Pilsner with flavors of lemon citrus, bread, earthy, bitter and dry yeast.

Another German Pilsner and one I've been appreciating more recently. I hadn't been able to get it decnetly fresh until now. It has an earthy, slightly spicy yeast flavor. Yet still with an excellent mouthfeel and drinkability as expected. This is one of my top German Pilsners. I'll buy more and do more battles with this one.

Sweetwater Tropical High hazy IPA, not a bad summer refresher at $1 a can on BOGO.

 

This is really good for a blueberry ale, fresh with a really nice bready/yeastiness.

Seedz Tmave Dark Czech Lager. Surprised to see my favorite lager brewery out of SW Michigan on draft in NW Indiana. These guys were named best new brewery by USA Today this year and deservingly so. I lived closer to that area when they first opened and I knew they were destined for great things judging by the quality of their lagers and saisons right out of the gate.
This one brings dark bread, ever-so-slight roast, a touch of caramel, slight hop spice. Soft and delicate, yet has a bright crispness. Awesome Dark Czech.

 

3 mile walk, $2 pints Tuesday! Today's brews, Iowa Brewing Zoinks IPA. A double dry hopped (citra & mosaic), 4.5% abv. 58 ibu, session beer. So tasty I stuck with that for the afternoon. Cheers!

They put out a new batch every month and I normally purchase 3 or 4 a month. So consistent and excellent. Still miss the original 9%, but they had to lower it for other States. Cheers all.
