Phase Three Kawaii DDH DIPA featuring none other than old reliable Nelson with a dose of Citra. Phase Three's hazies don't disappoint. I'd put them in the top 3 of what Chicagoland has to offer in that particular style. Welch's white grape juice, white grape skin, clementine, big ripe mango, passionfruit sorbet, mango skin, funkiness, yuzu, grapefruit peel, earthy funk, pine. Outstanding.

 

Wolfe’s Neck. An IPA brewed by Maine Beer Company. It has been a while since I had this great IPA.

 

That old school nectar has landed here, but I just haven't been able to grab any yet. Can't wait to try some. How is it? Is it a blast from the past?

Summit's Cabin Crusher Lemon Kolsch...........There are big lemon flavors, but they are still very fresh.

It is dive bar time...not exactly the same as $2 Old Fashioned time, but it is close

First up, at Under The Volcano...anybody that has seen any amount of my posts, knows this is one of my favorite bars and books

So, had a couple of Hofbrau Maibock's. I was asking myself why I hadn't reviewed this before...well probably because no store carries it around me. So, an old school dive has this on tap and nobody else around town. Man, I miss The Ginger Man, Hay Merchant, and any number of places that actually cared about good beer..and not just the next hazy IPA. I'm only 41 but get off my lawn ha.

Anyway, this is excellent.


Another Maibock and two for one tacos...so yeah I got some.

 

Narrow Gauge Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A — a solid name and an even more solid beer.

Poison Girl...with naked ladies everywhere. That is how this bar was first described to me about 15 years ago. Well, only tasteful nude portraits is what was meant ha.



Equal Parts Three Seashells Pale Ale. Also, one of the best bourbon selections around...but that will be for another thread.
