Here Comes The King

 

Happy Friday all! I’m still working but decided to start easing into the weekend with this fine brew. Biggest head I’ve seen on a barrel-aged English barleywine in a while. Will post notes once NBW officially opens, as I’ve never had this beer (and I just realized this is a 2022 bottle—I just bought it a few weeks ago and assumed it was a 2024). Love the crazy wax job, a big funky chunk already broke off while I was rearranging bottles in the beer fridge. Cheers!

 

Picking up dinner for the family in Stoneham Mass. I hit Red Stone Liquors and now at Angelo’s Pizzeria sipping this. Cheers all.

 

Seven Saws - local brewery in Holden Ma - Sequoia West Coast IPA

 

Enjoying a Smoked Helles from local brewer Zillicoah. This is quite nice, definitely not a total assault of the senses brew like the smoked offerings from Schlenkerla, subtly done where you can still tell this is a Helles.

Ugh, work colleague sent me on a wild goose chase after some tax data here at the end of the day. Just came back and said never mind. Oh well, what can you do.

In the mood for an Allagash White. Indulged. Cheers!

 

Had a Hop Butcher Soapboxer APA (Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Nelson) at a very cool tiny beer bar not too far from me. The Butcher finally started distributing to Indiana. Was a tasty hazy pale.

Now onto Arvon Voyager IPA (Mosaic, Galaxy, Citra). Arvon knows their hops. Some of the better producers of IPA coming out of Michigan imho. This one is earthy, slightly dank, and full of citrus and passionfruit. Dry and a good bitterness. Great stuff.
