Thanks! There are so many varieties of raspberries! I grew up where reds were the most common and they came later. We do have red ones that are an invasive, called wine berries, not big yield and not as tasty, and they are also out now. Did spot a nice patch of native reds about ready to open and ripen, I know exact location and will be back. This is normal time for blackcaps. Blackberries and dewberries will be in a week or two, if the deer leave me any haha. I'll be picking mushrooms hopefully at that point, I spotted first pins of chanterelles Fri. morning. Happy foraging!.

Collabs can be hit or miss in my experience, and this one is fortunately for this old beer nerd a hit - if you look up “dank hazy” in the beer nerd dictionary, there’s a picture of this beer. Absolutely love it.

Burns Family Artisan Ales -- The Oracle
    Fresh-hop barleywine
    ABV: 9.5%; pouring temperature: 48 °F: bottling info: 2023
    Source: brewery's barrel house

Pours a clear, medium gold hue, appears dark honey in the glass; dense, slow-rising carbonation; immensely dense and rocky head, creamy and sticky. Rich, sweet, toasted caramel nose. Classic barleywine taste; robust caramel and toasted grain notes; heavy sweetness; fine and subtle underlying element of bitterness and booziness. Heavy body; thick residual sugars stick to the palate; very pleasant alcohol warmth.

Popping the bottle cap resulted in a low-key foam overflow. Once the rescue glass gathered up the rest of the beer, my palate and senses were treated to a fine barleywine experience. The beer hits and usually exceeds all the profile points for this type of beer. Simply fabulous!

...note to @barneyrubble re: Sly and the Family Stone from your post yesterday...the band came to prominence around 1966 and lasted sometime through the 80s, so they were pretty much at their peak when when @LarryV and I saw them...didn't catch when Larry caught their act, but it was 1973 for me...

A stop at Saint Arnold Brewing this afternoon...sure why not...

    Belgian Blonde Ale

A descent example of a Belgian Pale Ale/Blonde Ale. Though nothing particularly special. I'll write a review when I get a chance.

Then their H-Town Pils, slow pour. This is phenomenal. Still one of the best lagers in Texas IMO.

Also, from Saint Arnold, Elissa IPA on Cask. Yep this is old school classic, and as great as ever on cask.

The Fish & Chips are pretty legit as well :sunglasses:

I forgot how much I like this IPA. Goes great with the venison summer sausage courtesy of son-in-law.

Oh Roy Orbison, I love thee...

I wasn't old enough to remember this, but this happened in my home town on my birthday, Sept 22, 1985. I was 2 years old. The first Farm Aid at Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois. My parents always tell of how Roy, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, just happened to be walking down our block saying hi to everyone. So I guess I met them when I was 2 ha. Our house is four blocks from the stadium, apparently they just wanted to walk around and meet people.

Edit: For those wondering, the entire city was in College Football Tailgate mode. My Dad also worked for the newspaper. I think he "inadvertently" directed them to walk in the general area of our block ha.
