1) Utepils Keller Pils (5.2%): A Kellerbier from Minnesota with flavors of smooth bread malts and yeast. Moderately bitter.
versus
2) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A Zwickel from Minnesota that has flavors of lemonflower with a dry yeasty and pale malt finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Surly Hell Lager
Kellerbier Battle. First is Utepils Keller Pils. Listed as a Czech Keller Pils. Yeasty, grainy, dry, and bitter. Quite excllent.
Next is Surly Hell, one of my favorite lagers of all-time. Distinct lemonflower flavors with with a smooth pale malt and bread flavor. The flavors pop and it drinks wonderfully. I've always said this is one of the best lagers in Minneosta if you're in the area.

 

VSOJ. A modern classic from Revolution.

Miskatonic Midwest Wizard IPA with Spruce Tips

West Coast style IPA with Spruce Tips from Montana. The 'Midwest' reference is to the collaboration with The Midwest Brew Review podcast, not necessarily a style reference.
Spruce Tips are a nice addition to the bitter pine resin.

 

1) Phase Three In Bloom In Bloom (7.8% canned 6/5/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Amarillo for flavors of lush orange, orange flower and juice, tropical tangerine.
versus
2) Toppling Goliath DDH King Sue (7.8% canned 6/17/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra for flavors of orange citrus zest, flower, pineapple and mango skin. Bright and clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Toppling Goliath DDH King Sue
Phase Three vs Toppling Goliath NEIPA Battle. First is Phase Three In Bloom. All Amarillo hops. Flavors of lush orange, orange flower, tropical tangerine. Fairly dry and clean in Phase Three fashion.
Next is Toppling Goliath DDH King Sue. Always hyped. Bursting with orange flower and zest upfront. Fades out a bit toward the end as dry-hopping tends to do, but absolutely excellent.
Both are fantastic representations of the Amarillo and Citra hop, but I think I prefer the flavors of Citra over Amarillo. I've done the DDH King vs DDH Double Pixel Density from Phase Three battle in the past and found them extremely similar. Wish I could get more of that Pixel from Phase Three to do that battle again.

 

Fairly new offering from Prost. As usual for the brewery, I dig it.

A friend kindly brought me a few beers from Other Half, which apparently makes it to the Baltimore area from Brooklyn. Just an outstanding hazy IPA.

Dang good stout out of Arkansas. A physically short work week coming up, but with deadlines looming, and working with procrastinators, I have a feeling it's gonna feel long.

At least it's 3x5 week in the gym - one of my favorite weeks.

Boulevard Rye On Rye On Rye, 15% ABV, 33 IBU. I rated this 4.21 back in 2017. This bottle was part of their most recent BA assortment that included 2ea of three of their occasional beers.
