all's well that ends well. just got off the phone with my buddy and everything is good. apparently my box was initially sniffed out by a dog and put through a second screening where they they put it in line with 4 or 5 other boxes that were of similar size etc. it was again sniffed out which prompted the warrant. he and the agent reviewed the contents to find nothing but craft beer goodness and all are now safely in his possession!

he got multiple "unknown number" calls. they eventually left a VM after a 3rd of 4th call saying it was the DEA and the package was in their possession.

Seeing how the DEA is a federal agency, that wouldn't have mattered.

If they are anything like my dog, they probably just smelled whales and wanted a piece of the action.

Looks like I still haven't found a regular trading partner.

How easy would it have been for them to make a call to the ATF? Here's to one rare example of happiness about non-cross-functioning inefficient gov agencies!!

This is why I've never set up a trade with you. So thoughtless. Next you'll be telling us you are cutting off the supply of hookers at local tastings. Dick. Move.

There's no way I would've showed up for that meeting without my attorney present.

At least a witness. That has all the makings of planted evidence.

DEA and ATF both should be abolished. Three tier system should be scrapped. Breweries should be able to ship direct to customers, and sell directly from their production facility in all states. Then we wouldn't need to worry that some overpaid hack and his overpriced animal are overly intruding into what is a legal transaction, and one that is overpriced mainly due to the aforementioned factors of regulation.

I was thinking a BA guy had found an inventive way of burning a trading partner.

Should have split a bottle with the DEA agent. Law Enforcement isn't the enemy.
