Took a quick swim break. The lake water is absolute perfection currently.

Shhh... don't tell my Mom I went in right after eating!

    1) Pizza Port Swami’s (6.8% canned 6/7/2024): A West-Coast IPA from California with flavors of bitter lemon peel, dank pine. Clean and bitter.
    versus
    2) Stone IPA (6.9% canned 6/3/2024): A West-coast IPA with flavors of bitter lemon, apricot, orange, and resinous pine. Bitter and resinous. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Pizza Port Swami's
West-Coast IPA Battle. A couple I picked up in So-Cal. First is Pizza Port Swami's. Lemon with a dank and bitter pine. Incredibly bitter and clean.
Up against Stone, one of the best WCIPAs. These are very similar. Stone is glihtly more resinously sweet with some more complex stonefruit and tangerine flavors.
I'd give both a World-Class rating in the WCIPA category, but the profound cleanliness and bitterness of Swami's gets the win from me, at least for today. Probably will do this again sometime and bring a Pliny into the mix.

3 mile walk $2 pints Tuesday in the books. Today's brews, Warpigs Foggy Geezer NEIPA and Firestone Walker Cali Squeeze Blood Orange Wheat Ale. Plus to top it off, someone called in an order for a couple of grilled tenderloins and fries and never came in to pick then up so our bartender gave them to us. $2 pints and free food, you can't go wrong. Cheers!

I'll likely only obtain the Swami via trade or travel, but added to my "Wants" list for it to sit there in perpetuity alongside Pliny(s) hahaha.

Good to see another endorsement. Cheers!

Had Miller highline the past 2 days terrible. This is acceptable. Oh yeah this is my new addition to my man cave. It's a coffee table I built in shop class for my grandma and now its mine. Its actually really nice for a teenager to have made it. It's perfect for 3 people to sit around.

I have some solid room setup ideas coming I'll share with yall of course.

    Cheers yall!

Ballast Point Sculpin (7.0% canned 5/14/24): A West-Coast IPA from California that has flavors of orange/grapefruit, and bitter strawberry and peach fruitcake. A bitter finish.

Continuing on the West-Coast IPA train today with a third one: Ballast Point Sculpin. This, Stone, and Swami's along with some Pliny are among my favorite West-Coast IPAs. Quite similar to Stone. It seems to have more apricot, fruitcake, and bitter pine though. A little more flavor all around. Compared to Swami's it's darker, more resinous, and less clean and bitter pine.
Rated World-Class and everytime I try this am impressed at how great an IPA it is.

Overall I did these West-Coast IPAs to battle three of the best. I'd rank them as:
    1) Pizza Port Swami's: Tons of bitter lemon and pine. Clean and incredibly bitter.
    2) Ballast Point Sculpin: Very similar to Stone, but seems to have more flavor and bitterness here.
    3) Stone IPA: Bitter grapefruit and pine. Fantastic, but slightly muted compared to the other two. I'd still pick this over any of their Deliciousness offerings.

A fun West-Coast lineup. I am going to have the bitterness sensory portion of my palate wrecked after these today.
