Happy Tuesday BAs! The weather's a little dreary today - seems like autumn has officially arrived. I'm currently kicking off the end of the workday with a glass of Anderson IPA, a solid local brew out of London Ontario. Cheers!

 

The Goose is on the loose at the Golden Nugget. $3-$6 Limit, killing time.

1) Utepils Helles (5.1%): A German-style Helles lager from Minnesota with flavors of smooth earthy bread malts, honey, and floral notes.
versus
2) Tucher Brau Helles (5.2%): A German Helles with flavors of smooth pale Munich malts, earthy honey, lightly toasted. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Utepils Helles
German Helles Battle. First is Utepils. Smooth bready malts, some honey and floral notes in the yeast. Flavorful and complex.
Next is Tucher Brau. More authentic Munich malt flavors. Not quite as hoppy or floral. Still extremely nice. I think I originally picked Tucher Brau in previous battles, but today Utepils seems like it is drinking extremely well and flavorful.

 

I like it better now, oddly! Fresh, I found these to be booze bombs; now I can taste the Quad underneath. It's a bit oxidized but there some red fruit notes that are quite enjoyable.

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA on this feels like 100 degree afternoon. Dermatologist appt today wasn't too bad. Two biopsies and she hammered about 15 spots with LNO2..... Still having the effects of FL in the 70's with no sunscreen.

Trillium - Trucks & Buses Must Exit Left

 

1) Drekker Eager Eyes (6.6% canned 8/19/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Nectaron Cryo, Nelson Cryo, HBC 586, and Citra for flavors of orange citrus, passionfruit, pineapple, guava, vinous grape, and mango. Clean.

2) Drekker Muscle For Rank (7.0% canned 9/10/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Mosaic, Galaxy, and El Dorado for flavors of orange, tropical peach, and berries. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Drekker Eager Eyes
Drekker NEIPA Battle. First is Eager Eyes. Some New Zealand Nelson and Nectaron. Extremely citrusy, juicy with white grape and grapefruit flavors from the Nelson. Crisp, zesty, and citrusy.
Next is a fresh release, Muscle For Rank. Mosaic, Galaxy, and El Dorado for strong tropical peach flavors. It's sweeter and heavier. Eager Eyes has some fantastic New Zealand hop flavors and the winner here. Excellent IPA from Drekker.

 

I now have to repair one of my garage doors. Time for a fuckin beer.
