Tripping Animals On The Loose (8.7% canned 8/3/24): A NEIPA from Florida with Citra, Citra Cryo, Simcoe, Idaho 7, and Idaho 7 CRYO for flavors of orange, peach, pineapple, and passionfruit.

A DIPA from Tripping Animals in collab with Mast Landing up in Maine. Citra, Simcoe, and Idaho 7. Orange, peach, pineapple, and passionfruit. Smooth and sweet malt body. Hides the alcohol well. It's nothing too memorable, but it's enjoyable and decent for the ABV.

 

Equal Parts Pilsner Resov, one of the best Texas Pils I think.

Remembering Benny Golson, One of the best tenor sax players of the bebop era, and played with everybody, and passed away at 95 earlier this week. My favorite band with him, is the Curtis Fuller Sextet. Which is basically co lead with Golson. They were pretty much inseparable in the late 50's. Great band, that also had Wynton Kelly, Lee Morgan, and Paul Chambers.

My friend Horatio Senz was with me his first trip, and dumbfounded at the free drinks (he just sat with us and ordered while not gambling as well). Visiting my brother and his family has surpassed gambling these days for me, but still get excited for each trip. This one is #65 for me!

That looks like a great one, hoping to run into some Beachwood this trip.

Great offerings as always. I finally got a $2 deal, but the hot dog is the highlight with the 10 oz PBR chaser plus tip, only at The Downtown Grand.

PBR + Hot Dog = Yes!

This is hilarious Dave. I’m actually up over a hundred, hope to stay up throughout the trip.

Off to get a few SWA match plays and run up the winnings further on the house.

Right along here ba. Copper legend, ofest, jack’s abby. A bit sweeter than I remember but still pretty good. Crisp and clean with subtle toasted malt and slight floral hops on the finish. On the lighter side for the style,

 

I keep meaning to do a side by side tasting of Saint Arnold H-Town Pils and Equal Parts Pilsner Resov. Cause both are excellent local offerings. I never get around to it. instead I just do a double pour of each back to back ha.
