So, decided to stop by one of our local hole in the wall beer and cigar stores earlier this evening for some sticks and always seem to find some old or obscure beer there. This trip was no different and found one 4-pk here that was bottled back in 2018 and had a price tag of $43. I mentioned it at the counter regarding the price based on the age and the shop owner really didn't care. He knew what he had there, I knew it, so just smiled and forked over the $. I haven't seen this beer on the shelf in a LONG time (are they still brewing it?). Because I haven't had it in so long and because of the rarity, I really couldn't resist. It aged superbly.

Thanks bro - I'm familiar with Dick Dale but never had the chance to see him. I was a big Ventures fan back when I first started playing guitar. They had these albums called Play Guitar With The Ventures and each one had 4 songs on it. They had one track without the solo , one without the rhythm, and one without the bass so you could learn all the parts and jam with the record - they were really cool!!!! I had all of these albums.

I saw Ike in the band during the Joe’s Garage tour which was hilarious, crazy, great and bold.

Lawson's Freestyle IPA - it's pretty good and more of a west coast style, but the hops aren't what you would expect, the can describes them as "new school hops".

Right?! Are they even brewing this beer anymore? (I just e-mailed DFH and asked that question.) It was one time I didn't mind forking out a stupid amount of cash for a 4-pk.

Wren House Marzen is tonight's featured beer. It is too sweet for me as it has a strong caramel taste, a bready finish, and a lot of carbonation. A swing and a miss for me...
