I'll add Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA to the discussion. It's nowhere close to what the original beer was. I bought a fresh 12 pack about a month ago and I didn't like it at all - it's really malty now and they're using some different hops that I didn't care for. Truth be told. I watered my lawn with 6 cans of it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed. The only thing is they start to blend together. Everything is either DDH or DIPA DDH. I do like them though. I like Nectaron.
This one is soft, silky smooth. Nice.

I think that can be said for almost all NEIPA's - at least to me it feels that way.

Last of my first pack of wet/fresh hop beers for the year. Looking forward to tracking a couple more down.

There's some truth to that for sure. I try to find the ones with different hops. The thing is they almost exclusively brew NEIPAS. They have a stout and some sours but that portfolio is loaded with NEIPAs. I still like them. I just have to switch and not stay on the same thing all the time.

Wings and a Heady for supper. Funny, I can't find any dish that doesn't pair well with a Heady....

That's true - very heavy into the NEIPA's. I buy them when the mood strikes me , and if they're fresh.

The new school hop is Talus formerly HBC692
Previously called HBC 692, the newly named Talus is an aroma hop for whirlpool and dry hopping additions. It delivers a high intensity hop aroma well suited for IPAs and other hop-forward beers. Talus hops exhibit grapefruit, floral, stone fruit, potpourri, woody, cream, pine, and resinous notes.
Talus is the daughter of Sabro (HBC 438) and was open pollinated.

US hops begin to be harvested in mid-to-late August for most aroma varieties.

I decided to stay another night / day at the deceased FIL’s to get more done. Trying to get the kitchen walls solid and prepped enough for paint. Old plaster and lath is really showing signs of trouble, but I’m not gutting and drywalling. That can be a future project that someone else can take my money to do. Still a second floor to repair…exposed studs with blown-in loose insulation just threatening to spill out before/while I drywall the cuts. Yes, I am complaining a lot. I’m happy to get it done
for the wife, who worries about it often, but somehow I got older, fatter, and stiffer along the way. Chicken and broccoli from the local hole in the wall was very tasty and filling.

No real craft beer around this little town, so I opted for a Godzilla sized Yuengling to pregame my last two Sam Adam’s Octoberfests.

Interesting, but not a fan. Too fruity to use in a west coast style IPA. - at least IMHO.

Urquell’s are dropping like flies . It’s amazing how an 11.2 oz bottle goes so fast.

Hah! Here’s an attempt at a perspective shot where my hand looks so tiny with this huge beer! It’s not a Hamm’s, but it’s all I have…

If you happen to see this packaged date, it's really good - 12/09/23. I'm enjoying it, not a lot of funk yet.
