    We stopped at Meyers Lighthouse Brewery because they just released a Black IPA called Lights Out. This is one of my favorite styles and my standard is high. This is solid - not at the level of my favs but definitely worth a pint. Cheers from Ocean View, NJ!

    1) Benediktiner Oktoberfest (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of earth and pale Munich malts. Floral and bready notes.
    2) Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of pale malt, smooth honey, cereal, pale Munich malts. Smooth. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Benediktiner
    German Festbier Battle. First is Benediktiner. Yeasty, floral, earthy, and smooth and light honey. Next is Weihenstephaner. Very similar, slightly more bready. Weihenstephaner has always been my favorite, but today surprised to find I am enjoying the Benediktiner festbier better.
