    1) Drowned Lands Winnow (5.2%): A Festbier from NY aged in oak barrels for flavors of smooth bread, earthy orange, cloves spices and yeast. Sweet.
    versus
    2) Modist The Time Is Nigh (5.2%): A Festbier from Minnesota aged in oak barrels for flavors of pale Munich malts, some. honey and floral notes with some hints of earthy oak. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: Modist The Time Is Nigh
Oak-aged Festbier Battle. First is Drowned Lands from NY. Smooth orange and bread flavors. The yeast has a complexity similar to a hefeweizen with some orange spice and cloves. Finishes sweet.
Next is Modist. They always make some fantastic oak-aged lagers. This could be one of their finest. Earthy, oaky, toasted. Excellent. Interesting battle and Modist gets the win here.

Ayinger Kirtabier, an unfiltered Marzen. I'd never even heard of this! Delightful on draft.

The problem with the first snow of the season is that a lot of people have forgotten how to drive in it.

Been dealing with drums for 6 hrs already today. Chopin' & Changin'. The drum shop won't know what hit 'em. Custom Ellis and vintage Gretsch...unfortunately I have to move half of my storage closet to retrieve the original 3 legs for one drum. But I can probly get close to 400 bucks for it with the orig legs so it's worth the trouble. Gathering the bits. And just like that Bob's yer uncle and it's time for a beer!

Alchemist Heady Topper DIPA... c/o my BIL on a New England trip. I prefer Focal, it is more smashmouth (its kinda like having fresh Ballast Point Grunion vs Sculpin). It i still great though.

My golf course is doing some winter seeding. What that has meant is that one nine is closed while it is being worked on, while the other nine is open. This week, the front nine is open for play, but the back is closed. So we play the front nine twice. They are watering like crazy, so we have sprinklers going on and off. And it's cart path only because of the seeding/watering. The good news is that we'll have both nines open. The bad news is cart path only until January.
When I got home, there was a fridge filled with beer waiting for me. I'm drinking Harvest Autumn IPA. Very nice.

    1) Drekker Doomsday Device (8.3% canned 10/21/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Mosaic for flavors of dank orange, tropical berries, blueberries, mango juice.
    versus
    2) BlackStack Pack of Shooters (8.4% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra, El Dorado, & Galaxy for flavors of orange, pineapple, passionfruit, grape, and mango skins. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Drekker vs. BlackStack IPA Battle. First is Drekker Doomsday Device. A fresh off-the-block IPA from Drekker. Fantastic name and can art as usual. All Mosaic here. Juicy orange, pineapple, berries, melon, and mango. Very complex for a single hop. Oustanding.
Next is BlackStack collab with Barrel Theory. Complex grapefruit, passionfruit, grape, and mango flavors. Galaxy providing the Southern Hemisphere flavors. One of BlackStack's best and among World-Class. Two bangers.
    Winner: BlackStack Pack Of Shooters
