A gloomy day, that doesn't know it if wants to rain or not...I'm voting for rain rain all day long. We need it.

Saint Arnold Eclipse IPA in the glass. Eric Dolphy and Ken McIntrye spinning, Looking Ahead.

 

It's INK day at Rhinegeist. It's the release of their INK Imperial Stout paired with several local tattoo shops doing tattoos on-site at the brewery. I'm currently drinking a '24 Triple Oaked INK...an Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon, Brandy and Syrah barrels.

1) Modist The Time Is Nigh (5.2%): A Festbier from Minnesota aged in oak barrels for flavors of pale Munich malts, some. honey and floral notes with some hints of earthy oak
versus
2) BlackStack Late to The Party (6.0%): A Festbier from Minnesota with flavors of smooth bread, honey, and light floral notes, smooth and mildly sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: BlackStack Late To The Party
Minnesota Festbier Battle. First is Modist The Time Is Nigh. Fantastic and oak-aged festbier. Light and toasted.
Next is BlackStack Late To The Party. Similar aromas. More smooth honey and flower. Both are great, but slight edge to BlackStack on this one.

Black Hog Hazy CT style IPA. I like the beers I've had from them, and this was canned on 10/24/24 so I figured I'd try it. Pretty good ...



Got out this morning and cleaned up the latest round of leaves - still plenty more on the trees so there will be 2 or 3 more cleanups in the near future.
