How did you get Triptych all the way up in Minnesota? Trade or is the little brewery in Savoy (just south of my home town of Champaign, IL) distributing up there?

 

Pot of chili is now in a slow boil / simmer for the rest of the day and on to a cellar pull before flipping over to the "other" Big10 game that has more personal meaning. (I'll still be flipping between the two channels until OSU / PSU settles their differences.)

1) BlackStack Crowd Control (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Mosaic, Cashmere & Strata for flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, strawberry, green melon, and mango
versus
2) BlackStack Pack of Shooters (8.4% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra, El Dorado, & Galaxy for flavors of orange, pineapple, passionfruit, grape, and mango skins. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

BlackStack IPA Battle. First is Crowd Control. Nice Mosaic and Strata combo. The grapefruit is starting to fade and leaning more mango at this point. Excellent when fresh.
Next is Pack Of Shooters. A collab with Barrel Theory. Pretty standard hop flavors. Robust flavors for complex orange, pineapple, mango. Tons of flavor here, but the flavors are starting to meld together a bit. These BlackStack IPAs don't last long and there's no canning dates, but when they are fresh they are hard to beat. This collab with Barrel Theory is one of their best.

Another beautiful Fall Saturday here in North Jersey. We returned from a hike through a local county park in time for me to catch the end of the Penn State - Ohio State game. Now enjoying Miami running it up on Duke while drinking a Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. Cheers, BAs!

 

Nice review - Jason, and I assume (?) you've heard the bad news, that Revolution will be closing their original Brewpub/brewing location? Sucks, but it's been tough since the pandemic apparently, and it's not getting easier. WIsh I could get out to Chicago to celebrate its last weeks but.... dunno. Cheers!
