I haven't gotten, or listened to the new The Cure album yet...but I have heard great things. Specifically, its their best since Disintegration. So, I need to pick up a copy ASAP now ha.

 

Looks do not deceive, in this case, at least.

I love this South Park episode...

 

And this is where we diverge....
I just can't tolerate the plaintive voice, not merely The Cure, but any like sounds by the singer.
I appreciate the angst/fear/hopelessness/desire but I prefer that be portrayed in the words themselves, rather than the "lilt/complaint" ( for lack of a better explanation) of the voice itself. As for the music, I will always prefer actual musicians to synth/computer generated sounds. A group of musicians speak to each other through the music. A synth expert, while expressive and talented, tells only one story.

To my ear it just sounds like an apology. Tell your story, don't beg me.

After reading the string of posts in a different thread about the importance....or not... of using capital letters when writing variants of BA regulars, I decided that a single bourbon to drink with my stout was just not going to make it.

Its saul good..man I'll just say, I like The Cure. Seventeen Second's, Faith, Pornography, Disintegration are all great IMO (there are definitely albums they have made that I'm not fan of though). Though many people here don't like my tastes in free jazz either so, what you going to do ha.
