What beer are you drinking now? #4403

1) Phase Three Rule Of Thirds (7.7% canned 7/10/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic & Nelson for flavors of white grape, snappy passionfruit, zesty citrus and tropical berries.
versus
2) Hop Butcher Double Grid (7.5% canned 7/10/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra & Mosaic for flavors of tropical orange, tangerine, melon, and berries. Clean and Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Phase Three vs Hop Butcher IPA Battle. A couple of aging beauties for a Saturday afternoon. First is Phase Three Rule Of Thirds. Citra, Mosaic Nelson. Possibly one of their best IPAs with this hop combo. Getting a bit older and my last of the pack, but still showcasing the bright citrus and vinous notes along with the tropical Mosaic. Complex and a World-Class IPA in my opinion.
Next is Hop Butcher Double Grid. Rated World-Class. Standard Citra and Mosaic hops. Complex citrus balanced with tropical Mosaic. All around outstanding. Difficult to call a winner here, but this Phase Three IPA is one of the best I can remember from them.

@GreenBayBA Looks great. I have always wanted to try that Green Moss IPA.

I get the whole drink from the can thing but it really is a great looking beer in a glass.

 

#2, time for a trip down Memory Lane with Sam Adams Winter Lager. I still really enjoy this one, especially on tap.

 

Christmas has stuck early around here. I've been wanting this beer for a long time and my local got a single case on special order. I happened to stop by soon after they put them in the cooler. My neck nearly snapped off with how hard of a double-take I did seeing this at the top of a cooler usually filled with IPAs.

Review coming at NBW later as I wait for it to warm up a bit.

Seventh Anniversary for Pollyanna in Roselle brings back the Party Penguin. I eschewed the orange juice variant.
I went with the Sinister Soul almond variant in a taster at 13.5% and a Czech dark lager.

A fine combination for a grey, ≈50° football Saturday. Where's my cigar?
