Alright, what are we buying/opening/drinking this Thanksgiving?

Im hoping to find a good Kriek or 2 for the dinner courses, probably a few pale ales/lagers during the day. used to be able to grab the Logsdon cerasus every year but havent seen it in a while. *sad*

grabbed a can of Nightmare Agam Kuan for the dessert round

Are we talking just PNW Thanksgiving beers in this thread? There’s already a more general thread in Beer Talk about this topic. As noted there, I plan to have a 750 of Chimay Grande Réserve that I picked up at Costco a few weeks ago (I posted about that here), maybe a couple Oktoberfests I never got around to because of fresh hop season. Locally I might go for a bottle of Jubelale or one of several Fremont barleywines or winter ales in my beer fridge. But with all the food I have planned—did a lot of prep work and pre-cooking today—I’m really not sure how much extra room I’ll have for more than a beer or two. Happy Thanksgiving all!

I treat it as Thanksgiving weekend. Long weekend. Plenty of beers to be had.

    Probably some of these.

I also have a couple of nice bottles to pick from (courtesy of my summer stay in Pacific City and Twist) Not sure which one I’ll crack. Also, plenty of goodies from Monkless.

Yeah, as I mentioned in the national thread, we're drinking Beaujolais with Turkey on Thanksgiving. However!

Several taphouses are holding special events with interesting tap selections over the weekend. I'm probably going to hit Roscoe's for their weekend event, but on Friday will probably head over to Saraveza. They'll be pouring 2019 coconut bbomb, Hellshire IX, 2016 Parabola, 2017 Bomb and 2019 BCBS.

My local has Frenzgiving on tap and it's great. Might've had multiple pints of it over the last couple days.

For Thanksgiving, I'm going to pick up some pFriem pils, dig out 3-4 old de Gardes, and probably pop my last 2014 Oud Beersel Oude Gueuze. It seemed to be falling off last time I had it a year or so ago, so I figure it might be a good idea to not let it go past 10 years.

    And then bourbon.

Didn’t plan for this, but looks like a very Block 15 Turkey Day

I've got a couple cans of St B Christmas Ale, a couple NB Tripel, Jubelale, CF Little Brown Owl, and some I'll Tempered Gnome. Also just picked up a bottle of FW 25th and a 21 pFreim BBA Barleywine at Bier Stein from their Cellared Affair sale.

I hadn't given much thought to my Thanksgiving beer selection, but it turns out I have good options on hand:

    Light:
    Zoiglhaus Zoigl-Hell

    Medium:
Ruse Wolves in the Rain IPA
    Grains of Wrath Hail Santa

    Heavy:
    Obelisk Pazuzu Imperial Stout
    Fair State Northern Rivals

Have you tried the Pazuzu yet? Curious to hear your thoughts about it (when you try it, if you haven't already).

I'm really looking forward to sampling it. Pazuzu will be the first amburana-aged beer I've ever tried.

I'll be curious to hear what you think. The ambura wood imparts some unusual flavor chatacteristics.

I took 12 cans to T-Day at my folks' place.
    4xDouglas Lager
    4xWhistle Punk Tmave Pivo
    4xLumberbeard Hop Choppin: Smashy Edition
Due to all the wine drinking that goes on at the Parental Palace, I came back home today with most of it, plus the majority of a Sam Adams Winter Lager 6er brought by my brother's FIL.

This was one of my Thanksgiving beers-- Festive Ale Winter Warmer from Reuben’s.

Rather nice aroma of browned barley with peaches in the nose. Somewhat sweet and malty with a scratchy finish. Hints of butter and nuts along with a mineral taste. Brambly and slightly astringent aftertaste. Eventually it's quite bitter in the aftertaste.

This always seems like a difficult style to get the right balance of sweet and fruity with something hoppy. This veers too far off into the darkness. It's exactly like a strong Amber Ale in the overhopped tradition. I wish I had a big bottle of old-school malt liquor to cut this with.
