Moving forward…I bought a couple of bottles at the brewery during Tampa Bay Beer Week (TBBW) last year, but never tried any - Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout (2024):



Bottled 3/9/24. Poured at 57° straight outta my Chiller No. 1. Spicy hot green chilies peppers, cinnamon and chocolate, in that order. Drinking fine with a boozy (12%) hot peppers sauce bite on my tongue. Better balance than I remember from past year’s. Delish!

Peroni 0.0 NA brew - made in Italy by Asahi (who owns Peroni - they taste very similar btw)

I was thinking yesterday you have had quite a variety this month but actually flashed on if drinking NA beer daily really scratches the itch...
For me this is about as close to NA as i will get, a 4.0% abv Pale Oat Lager from TRVE in Asheville. Lots of flavor going on with a nice interplay between the biscuitty malts and lemongrass hopping. Well done, would have again!

Sounds from the speaker.,. dunno if I like it or not.,.

 

1) Weihenstephaner Vitus (7.7%): A German Weizenbock with flavors of rich bread, banana, bread spices. Smooth and sweet.
versus
2) Schneider Weisse Tap 6 (8.2%): A German Weizenbock with flavors of rich bread, caramel, brown bread. Yeasty and carbonated. (Mismatched the two blind)

German Weizenbock Battle of the top two ranked Weizenbocks on BeerAdvocate. This is a fun battle that I do every year. First is Weihenstephaner Vitus. Rated the #2 Weizenbock on BeerAdvocate. Rich bread, caramel, banana bread, and some toffee. Complex and somewhat sweet. Sort of like an imperial dunkelweizen.
Next is Schneider Weisse Tap 6. This won the European Beer Star in 2023 and the #1 rated Weizenbock on BeerAdvocate. Pours darker, milder aromas. More brown bread and yeast.
Both are outstanding. I still need to let them warm up a bit, but I think Weihenstephaner comes through on this one for the win with more complexity and flavor. Personally, I'd switch #1 and #2.
