Bold Monk's Confession Märzen at Proper Hop. Might be the first I've had from this brewery.

 

Revolution Deth's Tar (14.8% canned 10/2023): A BBA Oatmeal Stout from Chicago with flavors of rich chocolate, sweet and earthy bourbon, sweet caramel and oats. Rich, thick, and sweet.

Keeping up the Chicago trend here. Another great from Chicagoland, that I'm looking forward to trying after seeing all of @ChicagoJ's posts. Probably the biggest beer I'll try all year.
14.8%. A Whopper. Rich chocolate, earthy bourbon with sweet caramel and oats. I actually tried the 2024 version last winter before this, which is the 2023 version. Didn't appreciate it as much last year as it seemed to hot and rich. Today I am appreciating it much better. All of the complex flavors of an oatmeal stout with the nice addition of bourbon too. Not too hot, and relatively smooth for how thick and sweet it actually is. One of my favorite beer names from one of the best breweries in Chicago. This beer is Darth Vader in a can.

Packing for a trip to the USA.,. been a year now.,

 

Lost Tooth Tmavé from Perennial (St. Louis) at Proper Hop. Had a few from this brewery a couple of years ago in the Show Me State, and I'm always happy to try them when they show up down here.

 

Good Sunday afternoon, fellow patrons of The Bar. It's a dreary day - cold and damp. We're supposed to get some snow tonight. I'm starting out with a New England IPA from Oakflower Brewing Company called Eternal Recurrence. Brewed with wheat and oats and dry-hopped with Citra and Motueka. A very easy drinking ale. Cheers!

Alma Mader w/ Horus's Barrel Aged Wheatwine w/ Vanilla & Coconut - Fields Above.

 

Hop Butcher Galaxy Traveling Scientist APA. Hits above its weight class at only 5.75% abv. Ripe passionfruit, ruby red grapefruit flesh and peel, little white peach, floral, earthy pine resin. Tasty stuff.

 

Yup this one is funny, because I wouldn’t trust others would agree. It is tropical with a hint of garlic and onion for my palate. I like that, but not for everyone.

 

Time for a hefe.

 

Last planned beer, and this one is a banger and perhaps the best I’ve had to enjoy this year.
