I'm not sure but for what it's worth they seem to lean into the same sort of verbiage, from their descriptions:

For those still on the hunt, Spaten is out there. Bottled in November 2024, on the shelf in the new covered six-pack format.

The beer hall of fame thread and subsequent Garret Oliver talk reminded me I recently had this classic...I wrote down a few notes in my phone as I drank it a week or two ago, forgot to post until today's thread, don't forget the classics :beers:

Beautiful clarity, medium white head with above average retention, aroma has a perfect bit of malty sweetness; just a super satisfying beer to drink; balanced toasty malt, it’s ever so slightly rich; but so clean and smooth with nicely balanced hoppy bite on the finish; very good drinkability; a classic worth drinking. If you haven’t had in a while, revisit it; I think you’ll be happy you did.

Little Planets Lager from Radiant Beer Co in Anaheim

Inviting aroma of grain, straw, and melon. Delicious light hoppy taste of green melon lingers long. The bit of sweet malt also fills the mouth. While there is no real sense of bitterness, it's tangy enough for balance. Overall this is a most excellent light brew. It's a classic of what American Lager can be, with enough flavor, plenty of spritz, but not overloading the taste buds.

Frogichlaus, a BA Doppelebock from Hoppin' Frog that clocks in at a "sessionable" 14.1%, a very nice beer.

Aware of the play on the name, does HF brew this in the same manner as Samichlaus? Brewed once a year, lagered until the following year before release?

I am pretty sure this is just Content Moderator with a different name. Either way, light and refreshing. Cheers!!

I am on vacation in St Lucia this week and the local ubiquitous pale lager is Piton. Very light in flavor.

I have had the pleasure of drinking Piton in St. Lucia and in that environment that beer does indeed 'hit the spot'. It is a light drinking beer but well brewed with no brewing flaws (that I could perceive).

Cheers to 'lawnmower' beer when it is hot! :beers:

Yes, the flavor is fine, there just isn't much of it

I assume the reason that all the beer bottles here are 275ml is to drink them quick while they are still cold

I was really commenting on the amount of condensation on the glass and the bottle, but cold is good with that style and the tropical air.

Was recently in Egypt where the ubiquitous beer of the moment was Sakara Gold. Your description of Piton (which I have not tried) fits the Sakara Gold perfectly. I even described it as a lawnmower beer in my review.

Cheers to a cold glass of water, ice tea or soda when it's really hot out and there's nothing but lawnmower beer available.

I don't buy alot of imported beers, let alone Czech dark lagers. I've had a couple brewed locally that I preferred.
