    1) Arbeiter Nacht Rider (4.9%): A Schwarzbier from Minnesota with flavors of dark chocolate, grains, smooth cocoa. Clean.
    versus
    2) Sprecher Black Bavarian (6.0%): A Schwarzbier from Wisconsin with flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, bitter roast

Schwarzbier Battle. First is Arbeiter Nacht Rider. Dark chocolate, dark fruit and cherry notes. Smooth. Next is Sprecher. A bit larger, but more dark chocolate and roasted notes as well. This is an excellent Schwarzbier.
    Winner: Sprecher Black Bavarian

    1) Toppling Goliath King Sue (7.8% canned 1/21/25): A NEIPA from Iowa since 2014 that is brewed with Citra hops and has flavors of orange citrus, pineapple, and tropical mango.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money (7.8% canned 11/8/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus flower, vinous white grape, gooseberry with some pine and berry to balance. Juicy, complex, and clean. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Following @Monkeyknife here with a Toppling Goliath NEIPA Battle. First is some fresh King Sue, the OG NEIPA from Toppling Goliath. Big Citra hops here with orange, citrus flower. Bright, ripe, and smooth. One of a kind 10 years ago.
Next is Fire, Skulls, & Money, brewed since 2017. Complex Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy & Nelson. Two of the best from Toppling Goliath. When fresh, Fire, Skulls, & Money is hard to beat but certainly some age bias in the battle today. Slight edge to King Sue today.
    Winner: Toppling Goliath King Sue

One of the guys from here sent me one of those yeeeeears ago. Still one of the best IPAs i've ever had. I'd kill to get my hands on one of those again.

Having a Stone IPA. Best by date is 03/08/25 and you can already taste a decline in the beer. I've had a hard time finding it fresh lately so it's almost always close to being at the BB date. The hops have definitely faded and it's much more malt forward to me. I still have about 6 cans to finish up. I think it's kind of like Jai Alai - once it's around that 3 month old period it goes downhill quickly

[IMG] Happy President’s Day. Enjoying a tasty ipa collab between Pure and Mcilhenny. Brewed with Nelson and mosaic. Can’t go wrong with that!
