Hamm’s. Just got off work, so starting on the lighter side of things. Got a bit wound-up on a higher strength Belgian 750 (and a couple of lower strength lagers, too) a couple of nights ago, and need to watch how I finish out this “Celluary” (since I get up at Oark Thirty.

Howdy folks. A lovely day here. Just had a nice outdoor run. 8 miles streets & paths. I love running along frozen lakes when it's sunny and 53F. It's like a dreamscape. Blaming new shoes.

Looks like my shower needs a shower.

 

1) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkel with flavors of brown bread, earthy Munich malt, bread and yeast.
versus
2) Andechs Weissbier Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkelweizen with flavors of cocoa, caramel, bread spices. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Ayinger Dunkel vs Andechs Dunkelweizen. Ayinger Dunkel is among the best of the best. Dark bread, caramel, earthy Munich malt and dark fruit spices.
Next is Andechs Dunkelweizen. Grains, dark bread, some orange and spices. Clean.
Andechs is good, but not distinguishable. Ayinger Dunkel is distinguished.
Winner: Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel

 

Popping open a "try to figure out what to make for dinner" beer.
I just picked this one up, as a lager from Allagash intrigued me.
It's not bad, in the "Pilsner" style as indicated on the can. Packaged 11/26/24. Light, lemony and crushable. This one goes down dangerously easy.
