Wish they paired La Ruche with something other than the one of the 3 LC already got. I need more La Ruche.

Double Barrels will be gone fast. I never buy and am going to get these (if able).

I'm not renewing, but my reasoning extends beyond how LC has been treated.

    In no particular order:
    - Lack of malty beers included in membership
    - (Perceived?) reduction in malty beers for LC
    - Party moved to winter
    - More interest in what Alma Mader and BKS are making, including Madera membership which is only malty BA beers
    - Interest in pursuing another hobby or two, including other potential memberships
    - Lack of value in SP beers relative to other breweries these days
    - Availability of SP beers in my market

All in all, still not my worst beer membership - that honor goes to City Barrel in KC. But Madera membership is more of what I want out of a membership - access to barrel aged malty beers, not pay a membership fee for the option to purchase a handful of upcharged BA malty beers. If there was one DB malty beer included with LC, I think that dramatically changes my opinions. Still happy to say I was apart of it for a year, and will still try to visit SP on the occasions I'm in STL.

Year one they were talking about all the barrel aged stuff they were doing. I was new and naive and wanted a BA spot closer to me than Side Project. They over promised and way under delivered a lot of the local beer scene was pretty pissed about it. To my knowledge, they had a handful of member's only beers on draft throughout the year and that was about it. You still had to pay for those draft beers, but they'd open the little hidden spot in the wall to reveal the two member's only taps and pour you a beer.

It was a legitimately bad experience. SP LC was more frustrating than bad.

As an additional Side Project-relevant tangent for City Barrel, the initial idea behind their concept was effectively "copy and paste SP, but as a brewpub in Kansas City" - down to the font used in the logo and having bar chairs that were a *lot* like the ones at the Cellar.

As @Harrison8 mentioned, that goal didn't last very long and they were already pivoting to becoming an IPA factory before the pandemic (and they opened in early 2019).

Since you all know my views of this club, here's some terrible variations on LC. Before the SP fanboys attack me, let me say that I still love SP beer but damn, this club is rough.

They say that, but I know guys that didn’t pick up most all year for LC and they were still able to get everything at the end. Guessing there would be flexibility, especially if you asked.

Nah, you guys are sitting in your computer chairs as you watch the Cellar and Brewery release some of their best releases to the public. And you'll do it again!
