Epic Milk Stout, 5% ABV. Pours black with a 5+ finger medium-brown head that left sparse lacing. Aroma is lactose and light chocolate. Taste is lactose, faintly sweet, slightly bitter. OK mouthfeel, overall excellent.

    TGIF, WBAYDN!
Enjoying my first beer in 10 days. Found myself knocked flat with the flu/covid (jabbed for flu and home covid test was negative). I lost my taste and smell and had the absolute worst chest crud in my life. The beer tastes better than I thought it would. It feels good to be back.

It's that time of year for a dark beer originating from a specific country, to the point that the style actually includes a reference to that country...

...so I needed to make room in the fridge by pulling out this Jack's Abby dark Czech lager, Bohemian Dusk. I've been drinking a little less this year (so far), so haven't gone looking for Bohemian Dawn. Might need to correct that later this weekend.

For me 3 pints (imperial pints) of Sullivans red, like any mild ale it goes down well.

    1) Hop Butcher Mellotron (7.5% canned 12/29/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Azaaca, & Moteuka for flavors of lemon, papaya, and bright citrus.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Orange Moss (7.5% canned 1/14/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Simcoe, and Tangier for flavors of orange, bright tangerine and flower with hints of tropical peach and strawberries. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Happy Friday BeerAdvocates. A nice time for a Hop Butcher NEIPA Battle. First is Melloton. Soem nice Moteuka for flavors of green melon, papaya, and lime. Smooth.
Next is Orange Moss. Lots of orange and tangerine here. Fresh citrus, bright, and lots of orange. Very nice.
Mellotron drinks a bit more smooth and refined, but overall they are similar. I like the complexity of the Moteuka hop flavor here. Fantastic stuff from Hop Butcher.
    Winner: Hop Butcher Mellotron

Thanks, they're rescues. Tan dog was 2019 from New Mexico - found roaming the streets with another dog, brought to animal shelter, owner only wanted the other dog back and not her - she has been the perfect dog,. Black dog was abandoned outside of Minneapolis with no food or water in an apartment in 2021 or so. They bonded fast and are BFFs (usually)
