What beer are you drinking now? #4525

Monday after work Cheers!! Working on a homebrew recipe and enjoying one of these. I haven’t seen the Pacific torpedo around here…looking for that one.

 

Very late to the party with Seismic Sue. Found it at one of my beer gas stations a few weeks ago. It is drinking pretty well for being 3.5 months old. Listening to Pop Rocks on Sirius.

The head on this is outstanding.
Taste wise, pretty good. Very dry, as it should be, nicely hopped.
A little funky, but I think it could I use more barnyard sensation.
I like it.

"Atomic" Torpedo ...



Ordered an onion & pepper pizza for dinner, too lazy to cook ..

 

1) Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money (7.8% canned 11/8/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus flower, Fire vinous white grape, gooseberry with some pine and berry to balance. Juicy, complex, and clean.
versus
2) Hop Butcher Best Buds (8.0% canned 11/19/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Simcoe and Moteuka for flavors of orange citrus and zest, tropical green melon, and some lime. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Toppling Goliath vs. Hop Butcher IPA Battle. FS&M vs Best Buds. First is Toppling Goliath. Somehow this is still holding up well at 5 months.
Next is Hop Butcher Best Buds. Another one with nice flavors. Smooth and nice lime notes from the Moteuka. Holding up very nicely as well.
Hard to argue with either of these. Easy winner though.
Winner: Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money

 

Jan and I are negotiating a pizza tonight also!

I had a pretty busy day at work and the last thing I felt like doing was prep work and cooking. Can't go wrong with an onion & pepper pizza IMHO. Enjoy dinner regardless of what you choose.

It is one of those days that are so beautiful out, it should be a crime to make people work inside (and if you do work out side, you should be able to take the day off and just do whatever) ha. After work, taking my pupper on a long walk to the park. He is an old pupper, and was like, yeah, can we go back now



Then out in the courtyard with some Extra Stout and reading my John Banville.



I'll probably finish off the evening back out here with some Powers John's Lane 12 year old Irish Whiskey...so probably a one and done post for me today

 

Wow, I love Honey Buns but being diabetic they have too much sugar. This reminds me of these but not so sweet to be cloying.

 

Wow @ChicagoJ you must have good taste. Also, one of my favorite beers in Chicago and completely underrated. That is such a cool glass!
