What beer are you drinking now? #4527

1) Phase Three Snow Pants (7.9% canned 1/15/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Meridian, Moteure, Mosaic for flavors of sweet and tropical berries and dank pine. Some lime green melon, and mint.
versus
2) Phase Three Be Cappy (7.8% canned 2/13/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Amarillo, and Alora for flavors of orange zest and yuzu. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Phase Three NEIPA Battle. First is Phase Three Snow Pants. Some interesting West-coast flavors here but in a NEIPA format. No, not the typical west-coast hazy IPA that has hazy flavors, but a west-coast bite. This is the opposite. West-coast flavors, but smooth and tropical. Some complex hop flavors from the Moteure and Meridian.
Next is Be Cappy. Orange hop flavors, plus some Alora to make it bright and zesty. Fantastic as well.
Snow Pants is unique though and the hop flavor is unlike really I've ever had in an IPA.
Winner: Phase Three Snow Pants

With a Popcorn Ball. I love popcorn balls with dark beer. The sweetness of the Popcorn Balls goes well with Bocks, and other dark, sweet brews.

Some new and different for me. Highland Brewing Lower Falls IPA 3.9% ABV. Tropical and citrus fruit notes in a lighter bodied beer. Nice "petite IPA". These will go down fast in July & August. Cheers!

They started having network issues at work around 3 pm so I called it day and took a short nap. I got my 6 month Covid booster today so felt a little tired, but that's it other than a slightly sore arm. I just picked up a 6 pack of this to try. I must say, it's not bad.

 

This collaboration from Modestman/Fidens The Realest 8.5% Citra/Nelson/Rakau/Nectaron. Cheers all.

I thought this one might be a train wreck, but it turned out descent. Round Trip Instant Krüsch 4.2%. A good, lighter bodied Kölsch style brew. I always appreciate breweries willing to experiment with lower ABV beers. Will keep this im mind during the summer. Cheers!

 

A Banquet with finger sandwiches, while trying to figure out what to make for supper (seems to be a common theme with me). After the first three bad cans in this pack, the beer is better. Not sure what happened - Coors wrote me back, asking me to call and give them all the information (again) that I gave them...not sure what to do.

Edit: apparently, finger sandwiches and pinwheels are similar but not the same. I wish to apologize for the culinary experts who may be groaning and laughing at me. Carry on...
