1) Phase Three Linear Gradient (7.7% canned 2/17/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Amarillo, & Motueka for flavors of tangerine, lime, peach, tropical melon/berries.
versus
2) Phase Three Unchecked Imagination (7.8% canned 1/17/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra and Motueka with flavors of orange, lemon, lime, and mango. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Happy Sunday BeerAdvocates. Times for a banger Phase Three NEIPA Battle. Both very similar.
First is Linear Gradient. Citra, Amarillo, Motueka. Some orange from the Citra, tangerine/peach from Amarillo, and then some smooth lime and tropical berries from Motueka. Excellent.
Next is Unchecked Imagination. Nearly identical, but without the Amarillo here. Very similar flavors. Slightly more grapefruit and citrus zest. Similar lime and tropical berry notes from Motueka.

Motueka seems to be more and more popular. Have to say I am digging the trend with the nice tropical berry and lime flavors.
Two of the greats here. Hard to call a winner, but Unchecked Imagination is one of my all time favorites. Phase Three at the top of the haze game.

"Oily pepper pain" reminds me of a painful experience after I was chopping a bunch of peppers and then relieved myself. I wear gloves now when working with hot peppers.

I'm drinking this Athletic Upside Dawn golden ale while waiting for my corned beef to get done. This just isn't doing it for me on multiple levels.

This is tasty. Nice herbal bitterness and spiciness. Great mouthfeel. Fairly dry to finish.

 

Getting ready for another work week with a porter.

 

Toppling Goliath Sosus DIPA (Mosaic). Getting Dole pineapple tidbits, ruby red grapefruit, some ripe mango, orange and grapefruit peel, big earthiness, white pear, and honeydew melon. Malt brings a good amount of bready sweetness. Great stuff.
