What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4536

Yeah all good. These were all professional kitchen things. I don't cook like that at home which is basically the only place I cook now unfortunately. The Mrs usually works late and I just whip something up quickly. But like working fast.

 

Not brewed in Virginia.

In a feeble attempt to cut carbs (diagnosed with type 2 diabetes) I thought I would buy some low carb beers. Not my thing although this one is not that bad.

 

Come on Sooners, act like you deserve to be there!

So far this is a gushing mess

 

Just drink less beer, they suck

Haven’t heard of the latter, and probably not one to find its way around here. I’ll look though.

 

I have been doing pretty good on my beer consumption. Most nights just six or so. Been trying to cut back on the double IPAs.

 

Oh yeah! We need to get Timmy @SawDog505 this summer and any other local BA's for round #2, great times!!!

I was at this game, about when I started my grad school at Illinois...after getting my undergrad at SIU, then coming back to Champaign. I love Carbondale, and will always love SIU basketball as well, but when Illinois and Purdue took both our great coaches in back to back years, it was hard to keep that up ha.

Anyway, I remember being here, and my Dad was working the game as well (he was the head photographer for the News Gazette, now happily retired)...the last Chief Illiniwek game.



Finishing up my Foreign Extra Stout, and pouring some Rittenhouse Rye, Bottled in Bond...and yelling my full head off. So I'll most likely be back sometime tomorrow ha.

 

Standing strong... well, with slightly more caring interest than most other games.. with our friend @russpowell in one of the late games. Side note: I knew Creighton deserved at least the same seed as Marquette.. though maybe I am glad I don't get what I wish for.

Speaking of, my rooting interest dooms your team, russ...

Have a good weekend. Just been a low key week. I finished the Steve Jobs Biography which was basically a history of apple vs microsoft. Also didn't know that Jobs basically made Apple buy Next to get himself into a position to push the CEO out. What a wild ride. Started Scatter Minds, by Gabor Mate, which will basically explain my mental state to me


Still looking to clear out big stouts in the closet. Rustic Leaf Imperial Soviet Breakfast. Aged in rye whiskey barrels. Big coffee, fudge, and rye whiskey barrel. A good level of dark fruits, slight yeast tang. No booze of 11%

The Haunted Came out with a single today. Didn't realize that Ola Englund was their guitarist now. They were my first favorite Melodeath/groove metal band back in 2005. rEVOLEr was top tier.
