I had my fun with their Bock, on to my ole standby.
I almost got the Porter, which I may still go back and get.
This has always been my go-to all purpose beer. It's not great but it's servic[IMG]eable.
    Cheers!

Things About Things About Things, a Vanilla Doppelbock brewed in collab with Icarus Brewing. This one merits a New Beer Sunday review. Lots of great beer folks here today. Cheers!

Warsteiner Dunkel (4.8%) versus Hofbrau Dunkel (5.5%)

First is Warsteiner. Earthy cocoa flavors, some fudge. Smooth yet clean.
Next is Hofbrau. A bit larger ABV. A bit more earthy German dark malt flavor and spice. A bit more complexity here.
    Winner: Hofbrau Dunkel

More like a gentle incline, but I did have to sip a little before getting the pic

We feel this beer has gone down in quality (less hops) and up in price. Kind of like tobacco. Maybe if I'd quit smoking again I could afford better beer. Cheers!

I think the best carpenter's level ever is a glass full of beer. (We don't need no stinking bubble.)

I enjoyed your tune you asked for feedback @MadMadMike . Sounded like a funky jazz 1970s selection. Didn't research to see if this is new or a retro cut.

The first of two planned new to me Firestone Walker & Revolution collaborations for the weekend. Started with the FW bottled selection.

Full review linked above, full New Beer Weekend #244 treatment linked here. Bottom line, the aroma yielded complexity, but the taste and feel was more of a blunt sticky sweet malt and barrel. Good, but not the level of great I anticipated and expected. Still enjoying.

Despite the sad premise of today's event, really hope it's outweighed by the recounting of some great memories of your friend, Tim.

On a lighter note, sending a big Birthday cheers to Mrs @SawDog505 :beers::beers:
