Well, it's not a Doppelbock, but it is Starkbierzeit in Bavaria -- so that's probably where the "National Bock Day" comes from.

Even though, it should be longer than one day -- more like all of Lent.

Rad burger is a favorite of mine. Great when fresh, but always reliable! I can find Von Trapp when I’m in Michigan, I’ll have to look for the dunkel.

I didn't know Von Trapp was available in Michigan. Where do you find it?

I’ve found it at the Total Wine in Ann Arbor, and was surprised the first time that I saw it.

Your post caused me to look at the von Trapp website's beer finder (https://www.vontrappbrewing.com/where-to-find-us.htm) and it looks like 35 places in the greater-outer-suburban Detroit area to as far west as one bar in Jackson but no store there. It's been a long time since I've been to Ann Arbor, so a trip there seems to be in my future.

I like the malt once in a while. This Märzen Fest Bier from Harland Brewing is my pick for the best Oktober season brew of 2024. Still tasty.

Aroma of peach with straw and a hint of green stuff. Delightfully spritzy with the malty body. This tastes nicely fruity to start, with a lingering note of apricot to go with the roasted malt. There's a dab of sugar to warm it up. It's malty but tangy, just sweet enough, melts in the mouth, and isn't overly strong.

Most of what i have had from von Trapp has been around or just past its expiration (partially my fault) but it still drinks so nicely. Definitely worth a road trip to find it!
Speaking of which i enjoyed Trösten with my first round today, a fine smoked dark lager. i believe this is a winter seasonal. The can expiration date was MIA but suspect it expired earlier this month. Nice use of smoked malts!
    Cheers!

 Well, it's a weekday and the beer is clearly labeled "WEEKEND". Maybe it needed a couple days more of (in-bottle) lagering time?

Must be one of those "BYOG" places I've heard about.:astonished:
